Mission Statement
At University Daycare, we have a passion for serving the children in our community. Our mission is to provide a safe, clean and loving environment in which each child may develop emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually. We want every child at our center to have a positive daily experience. We focus on preparing children for kindergarten and then continuing to support them once they become school age.

UDC Administration
director
Debbie Holley
Debbie strives daily to provide a safe and caring learning environment for the children at UDC. Her childcare experience spans over 25 years, beginning as a den leader for cub scouts, serving as a team mom and working as a substitute teacher in Montgomery and Autauga County Schools while she was a young mother herself. Debbie has two children, both of whom are now in their thirties, and a granddaughter.
In 1994, Debbie and her family relocated to Lee County, AL due to her husband's job. She began working as a preschool teacher at a child care center in Opelika, AL where she discovered childcare was her true joy. Eventually, she accepted another position at a preschool center in Auburn, AL. Hard work and her love of children did not go unnoticed – she was offered the Director position, which she served in until 2009 (when the owners sold the business). At that time, Debbie began her career at University Daycare as a preschool teacher and administrative assistant. In June 2017, she was promoted to the Director of UDC. She looks forward to proudly serving UDC in this role, and leaving a lasting, positive impact on your children during such fundamental years!
assistant director
Chantelle Edwards
An employee of University Daycare since March of 2004, Chantelle is passionate about caring for young children. While working in the classroom, the majority of her experience comes from caring for the infants and toddlers. Bonding with the infants at UDC and being able to watch them learn and grow over time into school-aged children is what Chantelle considers the best part of her job.
She studied Elementary Education at LSU prior to relocating to Alabama and joining the UDC family (thirteen years ago). Chantelle is also a mother of two boys of her own, ages 12 and 2. She says her personal goal at UDC each day is to provide quality, lasting education for each child who attends our center… believing that every child deserves a loving and safe educational environment.
